Autumn (September – November)
This is the preferred trekking season in Nepal. You will be almost guaranteed excellent mountain views, but be wary – this is the peak trekking season in Nepal, so be sure to book your flights in advance and be prepared for more crowded trekking routes. During this time, you’ll also be able to see and participate in the biggest festivals in Nepal – Dasain and Tihar.
The Annapurna Circuit stands out as one of the most popular in the world. The route comprises of 300km of varied landscapes, going from low altitude to a maximum of 5,416m at the Thorang La pass. In addition, you will be able to visit the famous ice lake and the Tilichi Lake. Soon, a road will be completed to enable you to travel to and from Manang in comfort, but for now much of this region remains untouched by vehicular transport, enabling you to have an authentic trekking experience.
The Annapurna circuit follows the Marsyangdi River to the valley of Manang. Every day, this route will provide varied landscapes and scenery, as well as the ability to witness a variety of Nepal’s ethnic groups. At Muktinath, you will see famous Hindu Buddhits temples, and the devotees who flock to them from around the world. An additional day trek will enable you to visit Marpha, famous in Nepal for its apple orchards, and a fascinating village in and of itself. You can embark upon the Annapurna Circuit and travel in luxury and style, but there are also a range of cheap and midrange options for the more budget conscious traveller. Rhino Adventure Treks will be able to advise you on the best options for you and / or your group.
