Spring (March – May)
During Spring you will experience warm temperatures at lower altitudes and moderate temperatures higher up. The chances of clear, unobstructed mountain views are good, and it is also a good time to see Nepal’s flowers blossom.
Autumn (September – November)
This is the preferred trekking season in Nepal. You will be almost guaranteed excellent mountain views, but be wary – this is the peak trekking season in Nepal, so be sure to book your flights in advance and be prepared for more crowded trekking routes. During this time, you’ll also be able to see and participate in the biggest festivals in Nepal – Dasain and Tihar.
This is a short route that will expose you to all of the colour and wonder of the Annapurna region. The sheer range of nature that this route will expose you to is staggering: from trailwinds in the valleys, to dense, mossy forests, to icy waterfalls where you can stop to cool down and relax. Of course, you’ll also be treated to panoramic views of the region’s mountains – views you will remember for a lifetime.
This trek will take you to the scenic viewpoint of Poon Hill, and you will pass through villages inhabited by people from the Gurung and Magar communities. Poon Hill itself offers some of the most breathtaking mountain views in all of Nepal.
The best views are available early in the morning, at sunrise. As the sun touches the snowcapped peaks, the giants of Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) will begin to appear, along with a host of other peaks in the same region. This is a rewarding route which can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age, ability, or level of experience.
